The Church in South Denver

South is all about finding God's purpose for living.

Whether you're curious about Christianity or have been living the life for some time, South has a place for you to live, serve and worship.

We are a non-denominational church of Christ or Christian church which means we're an independent congregation of Christ-followers.

South exists to reach the seeking with the Message of Christ, connect them into thriving community, grow them up in Faith, teach them to serve others and to live lives of worshipping God.

Some of South's Core Beliefs

  • Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God who died for our sins and arose from the dead. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8)

  • The Bible is the inspired Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16)

  • Every person has worth as a creation of God, but all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

  • And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)

  • The promise of eternal life is available to those who believe Christ is the Son of God (John 3:16), repent of sin, confess their faith and be baptized (immersed) into Him for forgiveness of sins and the Gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2).

  • Jesus commanded his followers to "go and make disciples (followers) . . . baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit". In the New Testament Church, those who believed were baptized into the Name of Jesus. Baptism is described in Scripture as a participation in Christ's death, burial and resurrection (Romans 6). Just as Jesus Christ was raised from the dead to walk in newness of life, those who surrender to Christ are raised from the waters of baptism to live a new life for Jesus their Lord. Baptism is a pledge of a good conscience toward God (1 Peter 3:21). He washes away our sins (Acts 22:12-16).

  • The Church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit and exists to save the lost and edify the saved. (Matthew 28: 26-28, Ephesians 4:1-16)

  • Jesus Christ will one day return to take His Bride (the Church) home and will reign forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
