| History The Church in South Denver is a nondenominational
Church of Christ. That means that we are a completely independent
congregation - not governed by any denominational body. It is our desire
to be known as just Christians, with only the Bible as our creed
book. Our membership is made up of singles and families from many
different church backgrounds who share the same desire. We are associated
with a group of other similar churches commonly known as Christian Churches or
Churches of Christ.
We began in the summer of 1979 on the campus of
Loretto Heights College as a merger of two small congregations. After
meeting on campus for ten years we purchased a building at Mississippi and
Bryant, and then moved to our present Harvey Park location in the Spring of
1994. In each location we have tried to take an active role in the life of
our community.
